Daryl MacLean
“Lovin Life and Livin’ Large”
Daryl has had a love for music since his early years. Starting off as a mobile deejay while in high school, he took his business on the road, and eventually left his native Nova Scotia for Toronto, Ontario. For over 20 years he provided musical entertainment in various night clubs, dance halls, and bars throughout the city.
Growing tired of the “night club scene” he made the logical evolution into the broadcasting industry. Completing a “mentorship” program with Durham Radio’s GM Steve Kassay, he started his radio career in Charlottetown, PEI at country station CFCY. Moving on to Summerside to C102FM. In 2005, Daryl moved back to Ontario to help launch the new 98 The Beach in Saugeen Shores for Bayshore Broadcasting. Within a year, he was their morning drive announcer. During this time Daryl created “The Beach Party” which airs Friday and Saturday nights. The show proved popular enough, that when Bayshore added three more stations, the show was added to their line-ups.
In December 2007, Daryl moved on to CKDO Radio in Oshawa, home of “Durham’s Classic Hits!”… A perfect fit! He continues to produce “The Beach Party” shows from there.
Daryl’s intention is to expand his Beach Party Show nationwide. The show’s blend of fun, great music and fast pace would be a valuable asset to any station.
